My best friend Yvan just got back from a business trip to Japan. He sent me some great photos of the meals he had there. The food looked really great but one had me laughing this morning. Latte art at an Italian place – done Japanese style:

  1. Oh Japan is the bomb! When I was there, I’m in love with their lunch time bento boxes at daimaru. So many choices and all wrap up like a pressie! Beautiful!!!!!! Love their coffee too!!

  2. Thanks! I’ll try to work something out the night before. I am baking it for my friend’s wedding. I hope it’ll turn out well!

  3. Wow, you’re quite ambitious!

If you have to make 100 cupcakes, do you have to do food as well? Either way, I would definitely do them the night before. The cake isn’t going to benefit from being cooked the same day. Additionally, depending on how/if you are icing them, you might need the cakes to be cool, which could be a timing nightmare the day of the event. May I ask what type of event it’s for?

  4. hey carmen!
i say bake the cupcakes the night before! i think if you made them on the big day, then it would just be too stressful to make sure you made enough, got them exactly the way you wanted them, etc.
i am sure they will be just as tasty!

  5. that is cute. i was wondering if you have any thoughts about baking cupcakes…that is, if you make it for 100 people. do you make it the day of the big event or the night before? thx
