This past weekend we checked out a Cabernet Sauvignon tasting at a wine bar I just found out about.
From their site, a description of the event:
Cabernet Sauvignon is the King of Grapes grown in major winemaking areas around the world. There is nothing better than a fine Bordeaux or a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, but this grape is widely respected in Australia, Spain, Italy, South America and in many parts of California. These wines have long been recognized for their quality and are the standard to which all red wines are compared and you can taste them all for only $25.
I really enjoyed the experience since they poured ten Cabs blind. It was really great to test your palate without the preconceptions of region, vineyard, price, etc. It was also sad to see how quickly my palate became exhausted when not spitting the wines. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. We met a bunch of interesting and nice people who were tasting as well. I highly recommend checking out this spot if you’re in the area.
