I’ve tried just about every conventional and organic egg in the Northern California market and I strongly believe Clover Stornetta Farms Organic Brown Eggs are the best. They have the cleanest flavor of any. If there are happy chickens in California, I have to believe they are living on this farm.
The eggs are wonderfully rich but somehow manage to not coat your mouth with that unpleasant fatty aftertaste that so many eggs leave. At $4.19 a dozen at Whole Foods, they are not cheap but they are worth every penny. I find that simply frying them with some good olive oil sunny side up and topping them with some fleur de sel is a great treat.
